The Forum tab shows the boards in a left column with how many threads and posts each holds and when it was last active, plus the totals at the top. Pick a board to see its threads on the right; open a thread and the reply box stays docked at the bottom. Search sits above the threads and now finds threads and replies across the boards you can read.

The Messages tab has the same shape: conversations on the left, the open conversation on the right with the send box at the bottom.

The window can be dragged by its title bar as well as resized, and the envelope button on the right toolbar shows its icon.
